We are seeking an experienced fabricator with an eye for detail and a willingness to learn and grow with our company.

Our ideal candidate is an experienced Sign Fabricator who has a good working knowledge of sign fabrication, but a strong fabrication background with a willingness to learn will also be considered. We’re looking for a professional, self-motivated team player with great interpersonal skills and values delivering excellence. Our fabricators need to be able work well in a fast-paced team environment and can efficiently manage multiple projects.

Minimum job responsibilities

  • Interpret shop drawings and communicate with fabrication team
  • Aluminum sheet bending and shearing
  • Grinding, sanding and bonding various materials
  • Wiring and lighting various illuminated signs
  • Maintain tidy personal work space and shop 
  • Accurately keep track of electronic and paper records related to jobs
  • An interest in learn new technologies, skills and techniques to become a better sign making professional

 

Minimum qualifications

    • 5+ years of experience as a professional fabricator (Sign Fabrication experience a big plus)
    • A willingness to learn new skills and innovate
    • A  strong fabrication background
    • Detail Oriented
    • Full-time availability (40 hours/week)

Our ideal candidate is detail oriented, works well in a fast-paced team environment and is able to efficiently manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Job responsibilities

  • Create design proofs and detailed shop drawings for fabrication team
  • Expertise in using Adobe Design tool suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.)
  • Knowledge of sign making materials and substrates
  • Full-time availability (40 hours/week)
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Accurately keep track of electronic records
  • An interest in learn new technologies, skills and techniques to become a better sign making professional

 

Minimum qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience as a professional designer
  • Some fabrication/ industrial design experience
  • Ability to produce consistent well executed designs
  • 2+ Adobe Design tool suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.)
  • 2+ years of experience with CAD software
  • Extremely detail oriented

 

Additional preferred qualifications

  • Knowledgeable in color management
  • Vinyl production and large format digital printing is a plus 
  • Sign Design Experience 
  • 3D Rendering Experience
  • Experience with RIP software

FULL TIME – Warren

A Service Tech is responsible for diagnosing, estimating, retrofitting, and repairing customer signs and lighting. By doing so, the Service Tech is tasked with safely and thoroughly diagnosing electrical signs and lighting while minimally impacting the physical area, leaving a clean and complete job site, operating and maintaining company vehicles in a safe and well-maintained manner, maintaining quality customer relationships, managing customer expectations and managing communications with the Service Manager, Sales Reps and Shop Team related to the jobs.

This role requires the Service Tech to use a tablet and record details of that job in the device. The Service Tech should be detail-oriented, conduct themselves professionally, have a can-do attitude, be responsible, flexible, multi-task, calm under pressure and discern priorities. A chauffer’s license is required. Must be punctual, committed, and have a good attitude.

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical troubleshooting & repairs to signs and lighting
  • Keep truck clean, stocked, and organized
  • Read all work orders before leaving the shop, have all materials on hand for the day
  • Provide service and customer support during field visits or dispatches
  • Operate vehicles in a safe manner and wear all safety and PPE while at a job site
  • Produce detailed service reports and timesheets every day, take photos, synch tablet
  • Turn in receipts daily with details of purchases for job-specific items
  • Follow all company’s filed procedures and protocols per the Employee Handbook
  • Communicate with Service Manager and Sales Team on job-specific details
  • Provide hand tools to complete daily tasks
  • Build positive relationships with customers

FULL TIME – Warren

Field technicians are the face of our company, and the quality work they do is critical to helping us build the brands of our clients.  Installation Technicians report to the Installation Foreman.

  • Install signs properly and to the highest quality standard to ensure customer satisfaction; work to be completed within the designated time and material allowances
  • Provide solutions to resolve unanticipated issues encountered at jobsites so deadlines and schedules are maintained
  • Communicate proactively and professionally with all stakeholders (install partner, office support team, customers).  Anticipate the next steps and the needs of others to create a team environment.
  • Build the Metro Signs & Lighting brand through your commitment to being a professional.

PART TIME 

We are looking to hire several Night Patrollers in the Metro Detroit and Grand Rapids areas. The position has a flexible schedule of 3-4 nights a week. We require that the applicant has a valid driver’s license, vehicle insurance, a reliable vehicle, and smartphone with the ability to download Patrol App.

We are currently looking for patrollers in the following areas:

  • Novi
  • Ann Arbor
  • Livonia
  • Holland
  • Muskegon
  • Kalamazoo

 

PAY: $17.50 per hour with the opportunity to earn performance-based bonuses.

Responsibilities include:

  • Follows assigned patrol routes via our mobile application, thoroughly checking all waypoints on the route for sign and lighting outages and service opportunities
  • Maintains constant surveillance from vehicles to identify the additional sign and lighting outages and sign service issues
  • Utilizes the mobile app to document outages by taking pictures and recording other details such as problem reported, sign/lighting elevations, customer name, and address.
  • Estimates size and characteristics of outage or service issue, and reports findings to supervisor.
  • Relays information to other interested departments, store managers, and/or owners
